Presentation of FIT4CEA project at OpenDISTAL 2026

On 24 September 2026, the University of Bologna presented FIT4CEA through a poster at OpenDISTAL in Bologna, Italy. The event connects the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences with companies, institutions and students. The poster introduced the projects with particular attention on crop diversification in controlled environment agriculture and Bologna’s coordination of Work Package 4 on diverse and nutritious food. It outlined three research areas: optimising cultivation, developing sensors and robotics, and combining plant phenotyping with self-learning crop models. It also presented trials at Alma VFarm, where selected crops and cultivation strategies will be tested under controlled conditions.
