Living Labs
Four country-specific living labs ensure FIT4CEA solutions are tested across different climates, CEA typologies, and stakeholder communities.
High-tech Greenhouse
Netherlands
The Dutch living lab operates in world-leading greenhouse facilities at the Wageningen University & research facilities, testing advanced AI systems for autonomous climate management, robotic harvesting solutions, and renewable energy integration in high-tech greenhouse environments.

Vertical Farm
Spain
The Spanish living lab will implement CEA technologies adapted to the Mediterranean region, operating under semi-arid climatic conditions and resource constraints within the context of climate change. The effectiveness of passive climate control systems for solar greenhouses - and their impact on pests and beneficial insects - will be demonstrated. Additionally, the use of simple, affordable automation for greenhouses on small and medium-sized farms will be showcased.
